Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-16

These terms apply to the use of handshake, provided by [not configured], [not configured] ("we"). By creating an account you accept them.

1. The service

handshake lets you create a digital business card, scan the business cards you collect, send a handshake email that introduces both of you, and keep contacts, notes and tasks in a simple CRM, alone or in a company workspace. We develop the service further and may change or remove individual features if the core of the service stays the same.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old and use handshake mainly for business purposes. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us at [not configured] if you think someone else is using your account. The manager of a company workspace decides who belongs to it and can hand the management over to another member.

3. Prices and free trial

handshake costs €3 per user per month, plus VAT where it applies. Every user gets a 14-day free trial. One paid seat covers every workspace the user belongs to.

A company can pay for its members with a team plan, or a member can send the bill to their manager, who pays through a secure payment link. Business profiles (company workspaces and public business pages) are free: we charge per user only.

4. Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider Stripe, which also issues the invoices. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again; if it keeps failing, paid features may be limited after a grace period until the payment succeeds.

5. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time in Billing or in the Stripe customer portal. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; until then the seat stays active. Deleting your account cancels your own subscription immediately.

6. Refunds

Fees already paid are not refunded, except where the law requires it or where we end the service for reasons that are not your fault; in that case we refund the unused part of the paid period. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights remain unaffected.

7. Acceptable use

  • Send handshake emails only to people you have actually met or who gave you their contact details, and never for bulk advertising.
  • Do not upload unlawful content or content that infringes the rights of others.
  • Do not try to get around limits or security measures, overload the service, or extract data from it automatically except through the official interfaces (such as the MCP connector).
  • Respect data protection law for the contacts you capture.

We may suspend accounts or workspaces that break these rules, after a warning where the situation allows it.

8. Your content and data

Your content stays yours. You allow us to store and process it as far as needed to provide the service. For the contacts you capture we act as your processor under Art. 28 GDPR; the Privacy Policy explains the details. You can export your data at any time.

9. Availability

We aim to keep handshake available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, updates and events outside our control can cause interruptions.

10. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. Otherwise we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations, limited to the damage typical and foreseeable for this contract, and in total to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for lost profits or for data loss that regular exports would have prevented.

11. Ending the contract

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. We can end the contract with 30 days' notice by email, or immediately for a serious breach of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We will tell you about changes to these terms by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before that date; otherwise the new terms apply from then on.

13. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live remain unaffected. Where the law allows, the courts at our registered office have jurisdiction.

14. Contact
